But I’d like to think I’m some other pretty cool things…a former NCAA Division I soccer player, the Director of High School Counseling and Social and Emotional Learning at one of the top independent schools in the Midwest, a runner who hasn’t missed a day in ten years, a podcaster, and a long-time soccer coach. And yet, when it came to raising my own soccer-loving daughter, I was a rookie like everyone else.

That’s why I started this platform.

The life of a young soccer player can be amazing, but it’s not without challenges. My hope is that you’ll join me (subscribe here) as I share insights, ideas, and inspiration for cultivating a healthy, girl-focused approach to the game — from player development to mental sports performance. Along the way, I’ll speak with professional athletes, well-being experts, exercise scientists, and coaches to uncover the best ways for young girls to use their soccer dreams to fuel a lifetime of confidence, joy, and wellness.

Please send your questions, stories, and feedback anytime.

Yours in soccer and health,
JulieAnne

Why Subscribe to She Dreams in Goals?

  • Soccer is awesome (obviously!) and the content on She Dreams in Goals ise fun, incredibly informative, and a great way to share the soccer journey with friends, teammates, coaches and family members.

  • Girls’ mental health in the United States is at a crisis point, and sports participation and the associated connections are primary protective factors that can support a lifetime of wellness.

  • Through this content I hope to parents, coaches and clubs reach girls during a critical development stage and help them grow their passion for soccer while also learning skills that support lifetime wellbeing.

  • As a parent and coach myself, I know how difficult it can be to engage with my daughter and players, so my aim is to make collaborating for health and lifetime success easy and fun!
